TRIP DEVICE COMPLETES PRODUCTION DEAL WITH MULTI-PLATINUM PRODUCER

June 18, 2004

June 18, 2004, San Jose, CA - After a long absence, San Jose's seminal alt-core industrial rock act Trip Device has put the finishing touches on one of two long-awaited recordings from the band. The first of the pair, an industry demo production deal now officially titled "Countdown" was produced and co-mixed by multi-platinum icon Sylvia Massy Shivy (Tool, System of a Down, Powerman 5000, Econoline Crush, Love and Rockets), and was part of an agreement initiated in January of 2004 to put Massy Shivy at the creative controls to shape and fine-tune the musical vision of the band.

The deal was structured so that both Massy Shivy and Trip Device can extract maximum impact within the record label and radio communities, and the band will be working with the studio on an ongoing basis to ensure the recordings reach the correct ears. "I'm really excited to get these tracks out there and get a reaction on them," said Massy Shivy when asked about the songs' potential for industry. "The material has some really strong hooks and I can't wait to hear what people say. I love this band's sound."

Asked about the band's satisfaction with the new tracks, singer/guitarist Bryan Wright said "The results have far exceeded any expectations we ever had going into the studio. I mean, we knew it was going to be great, but what came out really blew our minds. We've been very fortunate to have worked with someone of Sylvia's professional caliber. She did some amazing work."

Engineered and co-mixed by veteran Rich Veltrop, who himself has amassed an impressive array of credits (Rage Against The Machine, Seven Mary Three, Lollipop Lust Kill, Macy Gray, Loudermilk), the recordings have successfully captured the thunderous power of the guitar/vocal/bass/drums core of the band while underscoring the mechanized essence of Trip Device's unique sonic thumbprint.

The "Countdown" project was tracked and mixed entirely at Sylvia Massy Shivy's Radiostar Studios complex in Northern California and mastered by John Cuniberti at the world-renowned Plant Studios in Sausalito, CA. Currently, all three tracks can be heard free of charge at the band's MySpace.com site with streaming audio versions coming soon to the official Trip Device Web site.

The second of the two releases, due in the fall of 2004, is currently untitled, but will be closer to a full-length release. As of this writing, 5 songs are fully mixed, with an as-yet undetermined number of additional tracks to follow. Both recordings will be available at live Trip Device shows in the near future.
